CW's The Beautiful Life — read all about the fashiony plot on Buzz — is set to drop Sept. 16, with Mischa Barton in tow. Actresses Sara Paxton and Ashley Madekwe recently got into character for WWD, and the result is as sassy as their model characters. "Each girl is at a different level in her career, so the designers she has access to tells us what her experiences are going to be in the industry," said costume designer Tom Broecker.
Barton's character, Sonja, dons the rocker-chic look via skinny jeans, leather jackets, washed t-shirts, and biker boots by designers Azzedine Alaïa, Roberto Cavalli, and Balmain. Raina, played by Paxton, is the softer, All-American girl who wears APC, Isabel Marant, and Phillip Lim. Marissa, played by Madekwe, is the avant-garde of the group who adores Alexander McQueen and Christian Louboutin. So where did Broecker draw inspiration? He perused W and British Elle and scoured the latest collections on Style.com. Look out for Givenchy couture and Rodarte in upcoming episodes — um, awesome!
