This Model May Be "Plus Size," but This Campaign Is Not

Designer Sophie Theallet wasn't casting a plus-size campaign, but she didn't select your typical sample-size model. Instead, Theallet tapped the gorgeous size 16 Candice Huffine, who made headlines last year as the first-ever plus-size model to appear in the Pirelli Calendar. Since then, Candice has continued her rise to superstardom with her own plus-size clothing line and her spot in Lane Bryant's buzzy #ImNoAngelCampain.

This time, she's making headlines as the face of a "straight-size" campaign for good reason. Sophie's move to cast Candice simply because of who she is rather than what size she is is a huge step in redefining fashion industry norms. As the designer told CR Fashion Book: "There's only one Candice. She has all of this with an air of confidence, which I think is the key to being sexy. If you have that attitude and the freedom to be who you are, that is beautiful." We couldn't agree more. Just scroll to see Candice's new campaign in full.
