If you've noted Cara Delevingne's personal style, and thought, "There's no way I could ever get away with wearing that" . . . well, now's your chance. The model's signature off-duty fashion pieces are the key touchstones of the new capsule collection – finally available to shop today – that she designed for DKNY. From $70 statement beanies, kooky graphic tees, and $735 moto jackets to an "essential" crop top and a "dream pantsuit," she managed to capture her own essence while staying true to the brand.
And perhaps that's because Delevingne's had plenty of experience working for DKNY. Not only has she stomped its New York runway, but she's taken to the streets (and cabs) of Manhattan to front its campaigns.
"When I first came to NYC when I was 15 years old and saw the DKNY mural on Houston Street, I was wowed," she said in a statement. "DKNY is urban and edgy but most of all, it's individual! They truly embrace the weirdness in all of us, so you can really be yourself."
Of the quirky, cool aesthetic of her capsule, which has been in the works for two years and used archived DKNY items as inspiration, Cara notes: "I love to layer every which way. There are 15 pieces to play with — no rules, no 'looks,' just opportunities."
And although she's never one to shy from the spotlight, the campaign features not other pro models but a handful of her Instagram fans, both male or female (yes, the collection is unisex). To see the campaign, a behind-the-scenes peek at the shoot, and the entire shoppable collection, read on.
