Come Fab Finding With Me: Sorority Rush Fever

Sisterhood is the best; I don't know where I would be in life without my girlfriends! In honor of all of you ladies going back to school, and in honor of sisterhood, a special Fab Finding edition: the sorority rush event!

You're going out for a sorority and you want to dress to impress, but in an effortless kind of way. I'll start you off with this Citizens of Humanity '60s Cardigan, $117, which is simultaneously cute and casual. Perfect to catch the eyes of those potential sisters and dear friends!

Come back and tell me when your Fab Finds are up and tag them with soro rush.

Oh! Now, you can build outfits by creating a list of clothing items. We have everything you need to build outfits with and you can use your Fab Find bookmarks too. This is an even better way to put together an entire outfit when you are completing your Fab Finding missions.

Well the sorority girls at my college used celebrities as their fashion plates, so I think that made their fashion choices pretty original.

Generalizing all women in sororities is like generalizing all women who play soccer, who like to knit, who watch Gossip Girl, or who enjoy cooking. You can't!

I don't see anything wrong with them.

Nothing wrong with joining a sorority in my opinion. I was a member for two years but quit when I realized it wasn't for me. It did provide me with a sense of a smaller community in a new, large college campus. xo m xo

haha Fab, see what you started? i've never been a fan of sororities but mainly cuz at MY PARTICULAR ELITE UNIVERSITY, MOST (but not all) looked like Stepford wives. Sorry, but that was my experience with them...J.Crew/pearls/Manolos/Seven jeans to class and unfortunately, a very HIGH rate of date rape and general drunkenness while advocating "sisterhood" (and then talking about each other behind their backs). but then again, if you have/had a great experience with sororities, more power to you. i'm just sayin what i observed. in either case, i like Whiplash and Daddio's outfits a lot!

at my univ. sororities aren't very big, but the people in them seem pretty down-to-earth...like their parents bought them new VW bugs rather than BMWs. :D anyway, i'm not a sorority type person because i mainly hang out with my male friend/roommate, but here's my look anyway... as usual, i've used only sweatshop free ad vegan items: ' /> I really like your list daddio49! good job :)

Hurray for Alpha Xi Delta! I went alum in the spring of '07 but oh how I love my sisterhood! PS - If I had a nickel for every bitter girl I've ever heard say "... buying your friends," I'd be rich!

I don't think that Fab was trying to start any kind of controversy here. It's just an outfit for a hypothetical situation.

I actually have an outfit similar to the one in the post, a gray cardigan, white top underneath, and black jeans

I dunno...that book "Pledged" kinda makes me wonder. I'm sure not all sorority girls are the same though. But when my guy friend who's in a frat tells me the wild stories about some of these sororities I often wonder are they good environment to be in or a brothel in disguise..

well I did say at my college. and in the major I was in the vast majority of the students were sorority girls - so - based that observation (lacking originality) on experience. I didn't say the whole country was that way. But you can go off on tangents if you feel like it...

i agree with you Jamee Ro. whoever thinks it's about buying friends can go tell Conde Rice, Candace Bergen, Barbara Bush, Rachel Ray or Katie Couric that they were such losers they had to go purchase themselves some buddies. women should never hate on other women. dont be a bitter bird.

Generalizations like this just piss me off. About anyone. If you actually knew a few women in sororities (seeing them in class doesn't count), you might have a clue that 1) thousands upon thousands of women in sororities across the country cannot ALL lack originality; and 2) if you don't have the social skills to make friends in the real world, you can't make friends in a sorority, either, even if you're IN the sorority. But hey, brash generalizations are okay, too.

ok reread my comment. what i meant to say was that i hate when people say that a sorority is just "buying your friends".
alillee alillee 10 years
i know! i hate the whole buying your friends thing..that's so stupid.

there's nothing wrong w. being Greek. definitly no need to be hateful towards choosing that path during college. i opted not to go Greek, while most of my girlfriends did. and we all stayed friends regardless. i think sororities are cute, i just didnt think it was for me. anyone that uses the whole 'buying your friends' line, is just stupid. sorry. ps - love the cardigan! very cute.

i'm soo not into the whole sorority buying-your-friends sort of thing...so i'll pass on this one...

blah. sorority. yeah this is where real fashion comes out...?? definitely not where I went to college, the sorority girls all wore the same outfits they all bought at bebe. No originality no thought whatsoever to fashion.
