Coming to Terms With My Fur Dilemma

Coming to Terms With My Fur Dilemma My friend Zoe and I were out having drinks the other night and, out of nowhere, she leaned in and whispered conspiratorially, "Do you own a fur?" "No," I replied. "Do you kind of want to?" It's an interesting question that I'm sure most people who like getting dressed up have pondered.

Unless you're a vegan, there is nothing wrong with wearing fur. If you like how it looks, wear it! For those who think it is "unecessary," what about all the other "unnecessary" things animals are killed for that people use? What about leather? What about the animals who are killed to make fatty junk food like hot dogs and hot pockets? Are people who eat these things terrible monsters? Also, the other parts of the animal are used as well; the meat and bones are not wasted. Heck, I'm sure some people here even use make-up from companies who test on animals. Yes, foxes, minks and other fur-bearing animals are cute, but so are baby cows, chicks, lambs and piglets. Does that mean its terrible to eat meat? Also, it is not a normal practice to skin animals alive. These are shock tactics used by animal rights websites to manipulate people's emotions to get their way. They film one guy in China doing it, then say this is how all fur farms world-wide operate. PETA is one of the main organizations against wearing fur. These are the same people who think killing chickens is the same as killing Jewish people during the holocaust. They also think anyone who eats meat is no different than Jeffrey Dhamer (a cannibalistic serial killer) These people also think it is cruel to breed domestic animals (they want no more pets), and want them extinct. So, yeah, they're nuts. Sorry for the rant, but if anyone out there likes fur and wants to wear it, do it, and don't feel guilty about it. http://www.furcommission.com/

I would just wear faux fur. lizlee- the thing is, I don't think many people feel that an abortion is the best option; however, it should be legal as a last resort option for some. Do you understand the implications of repealing Roe vs Wade? It is simplistic to suggest that just because one is against the killing of animals for fashion--something totally unnecessary--one must also be pro life. I would also be against girls going around getting pregnant and getting abortions like nothing, but I'm willing to bet that this isn't the case most of the time.

I am not against fur, but I don't really wear it just because I don't like how it looks on me. I have no problem with people who are against fur, but I do have one question - do they support abortion? I will not tolerate anyone who believes it is not only okay, but their right to kill an unborn baby, but criticizes those who wear fur - I don't care what anyone says - ANIMALS ARE NOT PEOPLE! however, if you are pro-life, I totally respect your opinion...

I think fur looks the wearer look ugly. It always says, "I don't care what I kill to look hot" to me.
