Today, Derek Lam will unveil an affordably priced collaboration with Kohl's that was inspired by the art, architecture, and natural beauty of Rio de Janeiro.

The collection includes prints inspired by the work of artist Hélio Oiticica and a vibrant color palette of green, aquamarine, yellow, orange, and nude. Clothing will retail from $36 to $88 and will be available in Kohl's stores and online in April and May. Lam included everything from t-shirts to outerwear in the offering, and the retail chain's production resources allowed him to create swimwear for the first time.
"I imagined a woman from Rio going to the beach in the morning, meeting friends for lunch, and having drinks at the end of the day — with maybe a little work in between," he said of the feeling behind the collection.
