In high school all the girls were obsessed with the Abercrombie & Fitch big bags... even if you only bought a t-shirt you had to ask for the big bag! The guy models were pretty hot on them too...

I have no idea why I do this! There are tons of bag shoved in my closet because I think I'll use them at some point, but they never get used! Now I think I'm going to try to get rid of them :(

I used to put the pretty ones up on my wall or something, but I don't care anymore. I only save them to transport present and potluck food.

I do sometimes but then re-use them for gifts or other sorts and other times I just eventually get rid of them.

Naaah, they get such a discount on buying in bulk, I bet it hardly impacts the overflated pricing! I love pretty bags. Pretty carrier bags walking down Faubourg-St Honoré--BLISS!

I love my pretty shopping bags. However, it might be true that if shops wouldn't spend so much money on fancy packaging then we would be able to buy more of their products, maybe.

I so totally keep them! Haha like some stores in Japan have such fabulous packaging I can't resist. I'm a total junk collector. Sigh. Sad.

I think its such a fashionable way to use it as a gift bag for others and you can use to to carry everyday stuff..

I actually have made a pledge to no longer accept shopping bags of any kind for a full year... Unless I absolutely have to. So, for example, I purchased about 7 large resuable cloth bags from Whole Foods for my groceries. I won't accept the paper bags they pack things in. And, I have pledged to always carry a cloth reusable (large)bag for all my other shopping. I decided this last week when I bought a new pair of shoes from Barney's. They gave me this beautiful black bag to carry my shoes in. And when I got home, I had to trash it, because I know I won't have a use for it. So no non-reusable bags for one full year for me!

reuse-recycle. I'll save all of them to reuse but the nicer ones are kept for special 'reuses'- not for hauling out the recycling.

I always think Im "going to need this for something else one day" so I have a huuuge collection of them. Lately I have been using them to tote my lunch in to work. :)

when i was in highschool, i had the ceiling to my bedroom plastered with the "nicer" shopping bags. i've since taken to recyclying them for more practical use, like carrying my lunch to class!

This is such a funny question because it's true! I've got hoards of bags at home for no good reason!

Yep! We call them carrier bags, though...not paper bags :D

i'm an american living in Germany, and there's a big beauty store chain here called Douglas (DOOG-laas, Heidi Klum does the commercials for them, in German of course!) that has small paper bags printed with the latest perfume ads. Women of all ages reuse them to carry stuff around. Every day you see women in the subway carrying their purse and a Douglas bag. Practical, environmentally friendly and chic, i must say! Not to mention free advertising for Douglas...
