Dolce & Gabbana Lower Their Prices Due to the Economic Crisis

Dolce and Gabbana Slashes Prices (!)

Dolce and Gabbana customers, get ready for something major: 10 to 20 percent lower retail prices for both the main and D&G lines. The Italian designing duo has slashed its prices because of the current economic state. "In this moment of uncertainty, people spend more willingly on travel or spas rather than on a new dress. We want to work for the final consumer," Gabbana said.

But fret not, the quality of the clothes won't be sacrificed. Instead of hundreds of fabrics, the designers are now using dozens. Plus, constructions will be simpler, and alternative stitching techniques will be used. According to Dolce, "This is the only way to save the market and our companies. It’s time to turn the page." Agreed.

It is so nice to see a designer working to make their products more affordable during the recession. I am interested to see if the look of the line will change because of this cut in prices, and if they will continue to keep their prices low when the economy turns around. Thanks for this post, very interesting! Caroline www.twitter.com/carolineburas

Ha! I love his quote "...spend money on travel and spas..." I certainly do not have the money to spend on spas. I guess the people that have the money to buy their clothes don't have worry about actual necessities.
