Times they are a-changin'. Judging from Valentino's Spring/Summer '08 ads, it seems there's no longer a need for pretty-faced models to show off luxurious designer items. Even though it's Amber Valetta, Anja Rubik, Raquel Zimmermann, and Shalom Harlow hiding behind those drop-dead bags, it might as well have been any other model with a slim bod; Valentino could have even saved himself a buck or two! These ads are different and attention grabbing, and for that I admire them. For once, a designer has placed the accessories — not the model — front and center. What do you think?
