Never read Jane, but if it was as cool as the early Sassy, then I'm sad for readers who will lose this magazine. I read Sassy til the end, but it was hard as Ms. Jane Pratt seemed to into herself and her fab famous friends, Michael Stipe, Drew Barrymore and one more person she was always gushing over.

I am completely out of the loop. I just realized this today. It's a tragedy! Jane was the only magazine that I could read and relate to. However, since Jane Pratt has gone it has been different. I guess I should have expected it to happen. Still very very sad. =( I really hope that another magazine comes out that speaks to the real woman, not obsessed with makeup and how to please your man.

It's so hard to make a magazine (print) profitable in an era of multimedia. I get most of my fashion ideas, celebrity news and entertainment bits from websites like Popsugar and from blogs focused exclusively on my interests/hobbies/obsessions- like shoes and bags! Plus, it's a time saver. Who has time to sit and browse through a magazine. I get my fix from the web during quick surfing breaks while at the office.

oh, thank goodness. that magazine was so dumb and had nothing to offer! i was sick of the unintelligent, slutty, cigarette-addicted (who knows what OTHER drugs its readers and writers were on) material...my cousins were so dumb it figures theyd read such a dumb magazine. HA! thank goodness. too bad the OTHER unbelievably trashy magazines have yet to follow suit. (~_~)

You have to appreciate what Jane was trying to do - break the women's magazine mold. I definitely thought they filled a niche (how many different times can you read about how to have great sex, please your man, etc etc?) Too bad :(

Maybe I'm the only one here... But I say "Good riddance." this magazine was boring. Now, I say that, but I also think Cosmo and Marie Claire are just as boring. Those are really young 20-something magazines anyways. I'm not surprised by it folding though... The content was not interesting. Now, if only we could get Cosmo off the whole "301 ways to have sex with your boyfriend" schtick. There's got to be a nice, happy medium between the two extremes of Jane and Cosmo.

I used to reallly like Jane but I don't think I've read it in about 3 years. I didn't know that Jane Pratt was no longer involved with that, when and why did that happen?

I read it once and didn't like it. I'm actually surprised it stayed afloat for this long.

nyar it does sucks that magazines like Cosmo it still around but great magazines are losing profit/advertisements because people would rather read "69 ways on how to blow you man's mind." yuck. i didn't a comparison/contrast on Cosmo and Maxim for my journalsim class and after writing it i have never felt such as a feminist before in my life. i can't believe i actually read cosmo when i was in high school. thank goodness i grew out of that phase.

Never read it but funny thing is I went to the store today and was looking at the August cover trying to figure out who was on it... Oh well. I was wondering why I never saw the magazine anywhere anymore.

I never read Jane. Are they the ones who put Ashlee on the cover and she said she was happy with her body or something and then they put her on the cover again after her nose job?

This is so disappointing ... but you know it's probably not going to last when the founding editor doesn't want to remain involved.
