Fab Read: Celebutantes

Red carpet coverage is so exciting, but imagine how much more thrilling it would be to know what goes on behind the wide smiles and frilly fabrics. Celebutantes ($24), a new book by Ruthanna Hopper (daughter of Dennis Hopper) and Amanda Goldberg (daughter of film producer Leonard Goldberg), is your inside access to the Oscar's red carpet. The endless drama includes which designer will main character Lola Santisi select to create her red-carpet gown. Oh the woes of being a celebrity . . .

Thanks to, you can dress like the stylish characters Lola, Kate, and Cricket. Be warned: Looking like a star, even a fictional one, doesn't come cheap.

BTW - Fab's summary is a little off. Lola (the main character) comes from a Hollywood family (her father is a director), but she is actually working for her designer friend, Julian. She's frantically trying to find a celebrity to wear one of his gowns on the Oscars red carpet so that Julian can become a big name in fashion.

I have been hearing about this book everywhere! They gave it good reviews in my Marie Claire and people magazines, aimeeb. This sort of book is usually not my bag, but I think I"m going to have to give it a chance, as it seems I can't escape all the good reviews of it!
