Duh DIY: Stud Mix and Match

Earrings usually come in a pair. Like, two peas in a pod, two wheels on a bike, two fabulous shoes . . . a double rainbow! PartySugar lost an earring back on her way to work this morning and we discussed her sporting the one earring style — totally acceptable, especially with double piercings. Then I spotted these Wendy Nichol Mix & Match Studs ($210) and thought to myself: I have so many cool studs, why not just mix and match my own? Studs are the safest place to begin this DIY, the bigger you go, the more glances you'll get. That is up to you. Shall we give it a whirl?

I have got one ear pierced twice so it's easy to accommodate that single stud anyway. Aside from that I have been doing the odd stud thing for years. I don't think you can just grab two random ones though, you need to select two that work together. It can work with larger earrings but you must choose more carefully. For example I have a gold musical note and a gold bass clef that work well together. Some people ask if I bought them together.
