We're thrilled to present our favorite story from Lucky Magazine!
Glitter makes me happy. The word alone awakens my childhood self and evokes whimsical recollections of Barbie's shimmery turquoise pleather jumpsuit and the brightly colored, sparkly puffer paint I used to decorate my brothers' Fruit of the Loom undershirts. Sadly though, the glitter obsession didn't last long. In fact, it ended somewhere between the age of six and the I-refuse-to-wear-dresses stage.
However, I'm reverting. Between fall's impending sparkle-centric trends and our glitter-crazed pals at The Frisky, I'm tempted to incorporate some old-school dazzle into everyday ensembles. "Subtle" and "glitter" may not sound so harmonious, but I've discovered some options out there (apart from my go-to confetti nail polish) that achieve an appealing balance of festive shimmer and tasteful, entirely wearable restraint. No offense to Barbie or anything.
