Gwyneth Paltrow Prepares Us For Takeoff in Jimmy Choos
At first glance, Gwyneth Paltrow floating atop a pool in an airplane seat — dressed in a turquoise Safiyaa gown and a pair of Jimmy Choos — is a bit puzzling. In fact, upon taking in the slightly bizarre, albeit glamorous scene, we asked ourselves, "What's going on?" But as it turns out, Gwyneth is fronting the new British Airways ad, which was unveiled to launch the new A380 Airbus.
The plane itself is the only commercial jet with two full-length, wide-body decks, now offering two flights a day from Heathrow to Singapore. Fittingly, the shoot for the campaign took place at the 150-meter infinity pool, located 650 feet above street level at the Marina Bay Sands — not only the most expensive hotel in Singapore, but also the whole world. And Gwyneth, who is the epitome of all things classy-chic, got to stay there overnight. So it seems British Airways was going for the image of luxury, eh?
"Singapore has always been a top destination on my wish list . . . it was a great opportunity, both fun and truly unique," the stylish star said of her trip to the country, where she also enjoyed the food and, of course, the pool. And while we understand why Gwyneth would want to take advantage of a lavish vacation, we also can't help but wonder if this was all an easy excuse to slip on some designer heels and enjoy the view.
