How Would YOU Wear It? Hilary Duff

Though it pains me to see such a pretty girl like Hilary Duff dressed so messily, what bugs me more is that she's become such a slave to labels lately. Here, while out and about with her pup, she's sporting a Gucci poncho and that hideous Louis Vuitton Dentelle Speedy. When doing designer labels, I would stick to one per outfit. In Hilary's case, she should definitely get rid of the purse because it's downright tacky. The lesson learned here is that expensive doesn't always equal good. How would YOU wear it?

I would have taken a big tote instead of that one.

she would look better if she wore some jeans instead of a tracksuit bottom! nothing looks good with tracksuits, only tracksuits!

She's going to look hideous in anything next to that awful, terrible, no good monstrosity of a vehicle. I could forgive a little label whoring if she drove a prius, but she looks ridiculous in that poncho. A turtleneck sweater would be more attractive--and warmer. The bag? It's OK if you belong to the AARP. Maybe my grandma would like one for Christmas.

And I like the bag.. It would look better on an outfit with less colors coz the bag itself is very colorfull, but it's not as bad as u said.. :O

You know. I don't care about labels! Whatever if she's wearing lotsa different logos in one outfit. If I like something, I'll buy it no matter what logo is on it.

I can forgive even a silly poncho and a ugly purse, if paired with a yorkie. Everything goes with yorkie.

Actually, I was thinking that this is the first time I've seen a Dentelle look really good on someone. I think it suits her. Yes, it's over-the-top, but somehow it works for her.

I think the bag is one of the best looking LV bags. But I agree, sweats and designer pieces...ridiculous. I'd ditch the bag and switch the sweats for some other black trousers.

I'm personally all set with ponchos. And I don't usually wear sweats unless I'm running a quick errands, going to yoga, or lounging around my house. I hate that bag too!

everyone has those days where they just throw whatever on that makes them feel comfy. just in my case i look way worse than hilary does here. im not digging the poncho..i thought those were out years ago. i actually do like the bag..i dont see anything wrong with it. she doesnt look as bad as some other people ive seen out there.

I think the bag and poncho would be okay if they were paired with simple jeans. I agree that with the sweatpants the poncho looks very frumpy.

Basically, I would never in my life ever be caught dead wearing a poncho... so I wouldn't wear it. ick.

i like the look, but leave alone the purse. Love ponchos! And i definitely don´t wear labels :P

Lose the poncho and throw on a cute scarf. And yes, that bag is hideous. A big, black, shiny bag would be better.

i dont really consider that a logo faux pas...her logo is so small and it really isnt the main focal point of the sweater...the bag is pretty ugly though. i think there are bigger faux pas than duff's in this case, she looks fine for a casual look
SweetFirefly SweetFirefly 9 years
Whaaaaat? Are you talking about the tiny logo on her poncho? Wtf? I don't see a lot of labels. Anyway, I think she looks casual cute. What's wrong with what she has on? She's young. She doesn't need to go around looking like a dodgy old lady strolling to tea. Let her be young and comfortable.

i agree Whiplash! too many labels = fashion faux pas!

i'd ditch the poncho before i'd ditch the bag. there's a trend that really just needs to die already, especially since there are plenty of adorable capes & wraps out there that we don't need to tent ourselves in.

runnergeek - i'm thinking of getting an epi speedy too, for the same reason... i'm not a huge fan of the monograms
runnergeek runnergeek 9 years
designers make plenty of items that don't have logos plastered all over them. LV's epi line is a perfect example. i bought the epi speedy in black. its a beautiful bag, there's a tiny LV in the corner, you need to hunt around to find it.

If it's for a basic errands run, the poncho minus the logo, comfy flats, jeans, long sleeve crew or v-neck and a black medium size satchel. Label wh*ring is always tacky and monogramed accesories never go with anything. Imagine LV, Gucci, The C's on Coach, DKNY, MK all worn together is like reading and eye chart exam!!!

Maybe I'm wrong but it looks like she just got out of Pilates class or some other workout. So I think we should go easy on her. I know sometimes I leave the gym and it's cold out and so I just grab for whatever is in my car (which usually is a blazer from work! lol). So we can't judge too much. But I do agree about overwearing labels. Yuck.

I hate designer logos. Not only do I think monograms are just plain ugly, I'd have no need to scream "Look at me, I'm wearing Gucci" or whatever. I dig the poncho, minus the logo. The bag is hideous, so I'd swap it out for ANYTHING else less hideous. As far as her sloppy pants and sneaks, well, there's nothing wrong with staying comfy once in a while. The items aren't fabulous but they don't offend. But if I was wearing the poncho, I'd wear it with skinny jeans and great leather boots.

Nobody else has sloppy moments? I know pretty much every Sunday morning I'm in leggings, Uggs and an oversized sweater on my Starbucks run. Who do I need to impress? That said, cheers to being annoyed with the label whore-ing. I don't hate the speedy, but for whatever reason I find it unbearably tacky to have 2 different visible labels!! Is that weird?
