We suspect a master class in elegance with sex appeal is one Jason Wu could give in his sleep. The designer, who's never had a shortage of high-profile customers, including Michelle Obama [1], has spent 10 years at his namesake label making clothes women want to wear. Fall 2017 [2] — and the designer's 10th anniversary collection — was a clear testament to that talent.
His expertise in evening wear was on full display, dresses meant to disarm in the subtlest ways — a sliver of skin, a slash, and a sultry drape — any of which would be right at home on A-listers and fans, like Wu's friend, Diane Kruger [3]. Meanwhile, day wear was finished in peppier prints to offset the navy, camel, and gray, everything in easy, wearable balance. Likewise, silhouettes were a mix of ladylike dresses and smart suiting, giving us more of what we love: more options. Suffice it to say, Wu's latest collection is one that plays to his strengths, of which there are — and have always been — many.
