Lacoste Spring 2012
>> Portuguese-born, Paris-based designer Felipe Oliveira Baptista made his debut for Lacoste this morning at Lincoln Center, sending out colorblocked rubgy shirts lengthened into body-hugging dresses and the brand's signature polo shirt transformed into silky shirtdresses.
“It all comes down to pushing the iconic elements that are known globally in a new direction,” explained Oliveira Baptista. “But I also wanted to develop what Lacoste hasn’t really done before, like more outerwear, and tailoring.”
Wide-legged trousers, cropped jackets, and printed shift dresses also got play. “I wanted to add pieces that allow you to wear Lacoste every day — not just for sports or the weekend,” Oliveira Baptista noted.
