If You Survived #LillyForTarget, This Is What You Saw

Apr 20 2015 - 3:30pm

After impatiently awaiting the arrival of Lilly Pulitzer for Target [1], pink Sunday finally arrived. We headed out to our nearest Target with our game faces on — we would stop at nothing to get the tropical-print goodies we had been lusting over for months. Sound familiar?

Across the country, women braved the long lines and chaotic checkouts to get a piece of the iconic brand's Summer-worthy collaboration. So what did it take to actually survive? We rounded up photos of what it was really like to make it through the melee. Be prepared, because this isn't for the faint of heart. And be advised — if you missed out on the fun, you can still shop for your favorite pieces on eBay [2], but the markup may be a little steep.

Need Proof That #LillyForTarget Was Out of Control?

People Were Sprinting Into the Store

To Fill Up Their Carts With All Sorts of Goodies

Seriously, Things Got Intense

Because to True Fans, There Is No Such Thing as Too Much Lilly

And While Some Smart Shoppers Got Everything They Wanted . . .

Others Were Just Plain Out of Luck

So What Did It Take to Survive Pink Sunday?

It Started With Lines Stretched Around Corners

And Down Blocks

But No Amount of Waiting Could Keep These Shoppers Back

Once Inside, Trying to Find What You Wanted Was No Easy Feat

Store Employees Tried to Keep Control

And in the End, Even the Decor Couldn't Survive the Melee

And All the Best Goodies Had Gone to Good Homes

Leaving the Last Few Pieces Sad and Alone

But in the End, Lucky Shoppers Gathered Their Goodies

And Headed Home to Recuperate

So Was It All Worth It in the End?

We Think the Answer Is a Resounding Yes
