Look of the Day: Citrus Punch

I really love the colors that hvnly34 has put together here; the navy and sage together with citrus punch of orange make for an unexpectedly summery look that is still appropriate for her office. The pencil skirt and the cardigan look great on her - very professional! And the jewelry she's added give it a personalized twist.

Congrats to hvnly34! If you come by, tell us what you're wearing!

I think that the outfit is very appropriate for wearing it to work especially if you work within the education system! However, it looks as if she is wearing 2 necklaces and one would suffice. I prefer the longer necklace. & the shoes.. they are not really my style, but they work. I would have opted for more of a ballet flat or something with a small heel.

congrads! keep it up!

While I love everything about the look, the shoes killed it for me. It's too kitschy. A nice pair of pumps would have tied together much better.

YOu look great...and seeing as though I know you and your style...I can speak honestly about it...and it looks professional, job appropriate, and the orange and the shoes make it you!

Hey gals! Thanks for chiming in but remember: fashion is all about taking risks sometimes, and dressing for the occasion. Which hvnly34 does both of very well! xo

Without the cardi this would be a cute look. I'm not a big fan of the jewel on the shoes but the color is great for summer.

You look great! I was a teacher before my son was born and I understand the need to look professional by covering up. Besides, the fact that you're young and hip makes it OK to have a few more conservative pieces. Congrats :)

I think you look good...everyone has different tastes in clothing...this is just a bit more mature and conservative compared to what we're used to seeing on this site...but congrats on getting look of the day! :)

Love the color combo, don't exactly love the outfit. The fit is just too "old lady" for me. But the colors... GREAT!

I can respect that. LOVE Ugly Betty...I suppose I just can't help but think Halloween every time I see orange and black together.

I think it's super cute I'm in to the whole "Ugly Betty" chic thing right now. Very Luella!

Cute separates but it looks like HALLOWEEN! I love orange but you should never wear it with black.

I love the flashes of orange - I love bright colors however - this outfit otherwise looked very matronly to me.

Maybe I'm the bizarre one, but I don't like any of this (just giving my honest opinion). The sweater looks frumpy. There's too much jewelry going on and too much matching with the orange. The bag would be really cute if worn with jeans and a white t-shirt maybe. But this whole colorful, busy ensemble reminds me of my grandmother, or an old school marm. And those shoes! GAHHHH.

I like this look! The silhouette and color scheme remind me a bit of the Prada Fall '07 line where they paired neutrals with shots of bright colors (orange, blue, green) and showed lots of knee length skirts. Also like the long strands of jewelry - gives it that Chanel feel.

i love the shoes but i think the outfit is too old for me. maybe a brighter cardigan? either way, it's nice.

You sure better have thick skin if you're going to post a look LOL! Anyway, I am an educational administrator and that is something I wore to work - so I guess it's OK if I look like a 4th grade teacher! I personally would rather not have the cardigan on, but my boss FROWNS upon tattoos, so I cover them at work. The cardigan is GAP The shirt is TRAMP The skirt is ANN KLEIN (and it has a pocket in the front like that of a hoodie) The purse and bag are BCBG The long necklace is LIA SOFIA. Thanks Ladies!

I do like the cardigan- I would wear it with a tank underneath, skinny jeans, and a pair of ballet flats...

I LOVE the bag and the shoes, but I agree with Chellybean...the cardigan looks grandmaish.
