Look of the Day: Oui, Mademoiselle!

Let me just get this off my chest: I'm dripping with envy. Amidala is in Paris and I'm not. Tears aside, I'm loving everything about her French chic ensemble. The cobalt blue shorts are delightful and those shoes. . . oui, mademoiselle!

Here's what she has on:

  • Scarf: Thomas Wylde
  • Shorts: Topshop
  • Tights: Topshop
  • Shoes: United Nude
  • Bag: Balenciaga

Congrats to Amidala!

Francoisehardly you are totally right about Parisian summer weather. Also I agree with your opinion of tights as pants and not a long enough top issue.

i love the outfit, but it could be better without tights. She would have looked better with bare legs.

Francoisehardly---Well I live in the northeast coast of the USA (hence my comment) where summer is really too hot and humid, and winter is too cold. We get extreme weather here. All over tights and scarf are not appropriate for warm-weather attire here. It never feels like February here on June. The weather is averaging 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

I don't actually think it's always that hot in June and I've even read recently that it can be weird and sometimes feels more like February. I'm not an expert on June Parisian weather though but it might not be as hot as people think.

It's chic and pretty. I think it's great especially for fall or spring. But right now, it's summer here and scorching, I don't think that would be comfy and suitable to wear.

Cute!! Are those shoes with inverted heels (or whatever they are called)?? Are they comfortable? Is it like wearing any other pair of heels? I'm so curious, thanks! :)

I want a close up of those shoes! Are they like those crazy Marc Jacobs shoes with the heel in a diff place?

I can't say I mind someone wearing tights under shorts. It's definitely better than seeing people wear tights as pants and not wear a shirt long enough to cover what needs to be covered.

I lived in Paris last year for 7 months going to school/living with my fiance while he worked there for the last year and a half . . i agree with go4it about the lack of bare-leg (in that city)! Okay it's not the warmest place in the world but those shorts are super cute- show them off as shorts are meant to be shown off!

cute outfit, but please everyone stop with the tights, just for the months of June, July, and August. Bare legs are sexy too!
