The Look For Less: Wyeth by Todd Magill Dress

Hilary Duff graces the cover of the October issue of Lucky wearing a beautiful black-lace and silk halter dress from Wyeth by Todd Magill. Unfortunately, not only is this dress pretty expensive, but it's also hard to find. It retails for $425 in select Neiman Marcus stores but it's not available on the web.

I love the elegant gown, however, and it would be a great look for a holiday party. Thankfully, I just found a very similar and equally stunning dress for about $330 less. To see what it is,

I can't help but adore this JC Penney Lace Halter Dress, available for $94.99 here. It has a similar cut at the bust, an empire waist, and a fun, full skirt. But I especially love the wide belt made from nude-colored satin. What do you guys think?

I like the one Hilary is wearing. What I can see of it anyway. The JCP one is okay. However, I did find a pretty good one at White House/Black Market for $158 if you're interested. It's called the Nadia Lace Dress.

Very cute, I always love stuff I see in JC Penny ads, etc, but hate the shopping environment in the store. I wish they'd step it up some!

Great dress, from the photo, I'd even prefer the JCPenney dress. But one huge difference between expensive designer clothes and the less expensive clothes that look like them is that the cheaper ones can be poorly tailored. This may or may not be the case with the dress. It's just that you sometimes put on an amazing dress that costs a fortune, but it fits PERFECTLY. And then I say, buy it.
