Whenever we watch a "futuristic" movie from the '80s or '90s, we're always a little amused. The fashion [1] tends to be so silvery and space-y that we could never imagine ourselves actually wearing it — until we saw Lupita walk the red carpet at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens European premiere.

The star's black and silver Proenza Schouler look, which included a peplum top and chain-like details on the bottom, reminded us that, hey, it's almost 2016 [2]. The future is clearly now, so it's time to embrace our destiny. Lupita showed up to the Star Wars: The Force Awakens European premiere in a black and silver Proenza Schouler look. We first saw this fringed, mesh, and peplum ensemble on the Spring '16 runway. She finished her outfit with heels by Giuseppe Zanotti.

She paired the futuristic ensemble with silver drop earrings — and blue lips!

There were silver chain details throughout the look, even on Lupita's belt.
