Meghan's Chic Color Clash Will Have You Rethinking Your Next Winter Outfit

Jan 19 2019 - 9:01am

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle [1] traveled north to Birkenhead, England [2], on Monday for a number of engagements in the Merseyside town. As usual, their royal visit included trips to a number of community projects, but it began with a visit to view a new statue by artist Jim Whelan that marks the 100th anniversary of poet Wilfred Owen's death. For the occasion, the Duchess of Sussex surprised us with a bold and unexpected color clash [3]. She teamed a bright red belted coat by Canadian brand Sentaler with a purple midi dress believed to be the Maxwell dress by Babaton [4]. Red heels and a tan Gabriela Hearst handbag finished this eye-catching look.

The duchess has tended to opt for black [6] or neutral hues for public engagements before, but perhaps Meghan has been taking a leaf out of the queen's book by choosing a bright color that's easily spotted in the crowd [7]? She definitely made a statement as she stepped out to meet the members of the public who'd waited in the cold for their royal moment. Take a closer look at her bright and beautiful outfit ahead.
