The FLOTUS Is a Pro at Nailing Casual Style Too

Mar 28 2016 - 12:25pm

After what seems like a month's worth of event-appropriate dresses [1] and state dinner gowns [2], Michelle Obama [3] led the White House's annual Easter Egg Roll festivities on Monday in what might be her most casual look to date [4]. For this public outing on the White House lawn, the first lady switched into a look we can all relate to. She topped a pair of skinny black pants with a green cotton tunic, but it's how she pulled the whole look together that scores major style points. To finish, she added a subtle pin-striped anorak and a pair of Converse sneakers — proof that even when you're dressing down, there are plenty of ways to give your look a cool boost. See the look in full when you keep reading.

Michelle topped her green tunic and jeans with a zip-front anorak-style jacket, adding to the cool, casual effect.

Barack got casual too, albeit with a polished button-down and trousers.

Together, they coordinated but veered from matchy-matchy.

Michelle accessorized her look with a pair of Converse, perfect for running around.

High-five to both for nailing their dressed-down looks.
