We've seen a string of showstopping looks from the first lady, Michelle Obama [1], in recent days, starting with the daring Givenchy gown [2] she wore to Saturday's White House Correspondents' Dinner. She also pulled out another perfect-for-Spring Narciso Rodriguez dress [3] at a White House event.
Michelle joined forces with Dr. Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden [4], for a special appearance on Monday night's edition of The Voice on NBC. While a whole lot of fashion hoopla was going down in New York City at the Met Gala [5], Michelle and Jill were busy celebrating veterans and our armed forces from a power position in The Voices' judging chairs [6].
The two women also gave a master class in the art of sophisticated, tasteful dressing, each selecting outfits that conveyed elegance without stealing the show. Michelle paired a wide-legged white jumpsuit with a black jacket, which was cinched at the waist with a belt. Both the jumpsuit and jacket were designed by Monique Lhuillier; the top piece was actually custom, made of black taffeta.
Jill, meanwhile, paired a leather sheath dress with a pair of intricate blue heels. Both outfits appeared effortless and let the real attention shine where it deserved to be: on the military.
