I have seen Miley Cyrus [1] successfully pull off countless jaw-dropping looks [2], so I was hardly surprised that she "took the plunge" for both of her performances on Saturday Night Live [3] this weekend. Miley sang "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" [4] in a glittering Gucci tracksuit, forgoing a bra [5] entirely (which had the internet buzzing about a potential wardrobe mishap), but I mean, boob tape, people! Miley had her moves on lock, and her designer jacket did not move too far left or right, as far as I could see. Yes, her outfit was sexy and it was definitely NSFW, but Miley has always been about taking a risk.
Miley also belted out an incredible rendition of John Lennon's "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" [6] alongside Mark Ronson and Sean Ono Lennon, and for that, she wore her most showstopping dress of the night: a Fall 2018 Saint Laurent minidress with a neckline that dropped to her navel and sequins arranged in a floral pattern of the most festive colors — red, green, fuchsia, and indigo. If I owned this little number, I would muster up the confidence to sport it at every holiday party. Seriously, every single one.
I'm not only impressed with Miley's talent, although that is, of course, what I appreciate most, but also her dedication to staying true to herself and wearing whatever the heck she wants if she feels good about it. Keep reading to get a breakdown of Miley's SNL wardrobe, then shop the design I'm clearly set on owning some iteration of before New Year's Eve. Mark my words — I'm ringing in 2019 dressed [7] like Miley.
