So as we patiently wait for more brands to follow suit — way to get things going, ModCloth! — keep reading to find out more about this new superstar.

ModCloth announced its first-ever transgender model via Instagram, accompanied by a powerful quote by Rye: "I waited years for someone to tell me that it was okay to be myself before I realized that someone was me."

Rye is both a stand-up comedian and writer, with her own blog, Chick Like Me [4].

She also posts a ton of fabulous #ootd selfies on her Instagram such as this this one, which shows off a skirt that features a Tardis print from Doctor Who.
