If there's one thing we've learned so far at New York Fashion Week, it's that neutral tones should be offset with some very serious eyeliner, both above the eye and below. That was the trend at Carolina Herrera, and on Tuesday it resurfaced at the runway show for the Spring 2007 collection from Monique Lhuillier.

The label, known for its exquisite evening wear, counts Jennifer Lopez, Halle Berry, and Angelina Jolie among its fans. For this season's gowns, the house stuck to somewhat muted tones—notably black and light gold—saving the drama for the highly defined eye makeup. Though quite lovely, the frocks at this show were hardly groundbreaking, aside from a few counter-intuitive necklines and adorable button accents. I also really loved the numerous pairings of gilded belts atop floor-lengths dresses. (To see all of Fabsugar's New York Fashion Week coverage, click here.) To see the collection for yourself,
