On Our Radar: What's Next for Imitation of Christ

On Our Radar: What's Next for Imitation of Christ

Tara Subkoff has quite a few new tricks up her sleeve - for both herself and her Imitation of Christ label.

She's been working on a capsule collection called Tara Subkoff for Bebe that will debut at Bebe stores in Spring 2008, full of "super wearable, really sexy and modern" pieces. She also has a diffusion line for Imitation of Christ, called Imitation, in the works for Fall. And finally, in the spirit of change, Tara is looking to sell Imitation of Christ. Change is good right?

I agree with SouperGirl. CoolBritanna ... if it were truly about Imitating Christ it would be a different story. If you wanted to do so ... you wouldn't wear those clothes. Yes, it's contraversial and offensive to Christians. That said ... she has the right to name her clothing label anything she wishes. In the same token, I have the right to find it offensive and boycott buying it. You have the right to not find it offensive and buy it. We're each held responsible for our own actions in the end.

Hmm interesting, she's selling. I wonder what her next project will be... Not to be snippety or anything, but actually there is a Christian book called Imitation of Christ by Thomas à Kempis. So I really don't think if you're Christian, that you should find a clothing label under the same name offensive. Just my opinion.

As a believer in the Lord, I find it hard to see the reason to use Christ's name along with the word-imitation. If you're going to use Christ's name, use it to gloriy Him and praise Him. He died on the cross and rose again so that we might have eternal life. HE deserves praise, not to be taken so lightly that using His name on a label is somehow cool. Using His name in vane is not fashion.

Sounds great! Personally I don't find the label offensive so any store that think's it's controversial is crazy.

The line seems like a nice one but I think that the label is a little controversial. I think it would make some people ban the clothing.
