Paris Fashion Week, Spring 2009: Lanvin

I just died and went to Lanvin's heavenly candy shop. Alber Elbaz has done it again — he delivered inventive pieces but didn't alienate Lanvin's signature bold colors and voluminous silhouettes. This Spring collection leaves you wanting more. It offers everything from black to nude, to colors like chartreuse, teal, purple, and orange. Yum. Some of the dramatic wide-shouldered silhouettes are hard to work with; still, on the runway they work like magic. But what I really want to talk about are the accessories. Sparkly necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and clutches demand attention, but somehow don't steal the spotlight from the clothes. A perfect harmony has been created with the stunning clothes and wild jewels. Bravo, Alber, bravo!

For more sweet as candy Lanvin,

one of the things that i love about lanvin's collections - the wearable ness. i don't even know if that's a word but if you look at a majority of the collection, ANYONE can wear it - it's not like you have to be this fantasy business woman.

I also looked at the slideshow on style.com, and I loved Lanvin's over the others. The use of different colors won me over, Gwyneth wore a really cute orange dress not to long ago (not sure what designer it was...)

I just finished looking through the runway show on style.com and I must say I'm a little disappointed. Most of the silhouettes look unflattering on the models and very oversized. I like the colors, shoes and accessories, but overall I feel a little let down. Such as shame after such a brilliant Fall/Winter collection. I still love Lanvin though.

I like some of these looks, but not all of them. Lanvin isn't a favorite for me.

I thought Lanvin's Fall 08 show was absolutely stunning and just magical. I didn't think Alber Elbaz could top how amazing it was. But he did. This show, as you said, was simply stunning too.
