What happens when a New York designer hightails it to Paris? Rebecca Taylor's year-long experiment abroad is the European immersion program of our dreams, complete with an apartment in the 16th. There, she set up shop with her family and has been busy manning her business from overseas since August, leaning into the Parisian approach to life and style.

Fortunately her envy-inducing adventure is rife with benefits for the rest of us. For the Rebecca Taylor customer, you can expect a Fall lineup inspired by her time in France. And, if you're looking for practical advice you can put to good use, Rebecca's account of life in Paris is also full of everyday dressing tips. (Hint: Less is more!) Sit back and prepare to live vicariously through Rebecca's experience abroad, complete with photos of the designer in her own pied-à-terre — you may just want a warm croissant or a glass of wine while you soak it all in.

On What Drew Her to Paris

"I have always dreamed of living in Paris. When I was eight my family moved to England from New Zealand and we often traveled to Paris on the weekends. The very first time I arrived in Paris, I was completely in awe of how beautiful, pristine, chic, and magical the city was. It left quite an impression on me. Since then, Paris has inspired me creatively and spiritually; it is where I feel the best version of myself . . . so here I am!"

How Living in Paris Influenced Her Style

"My dress code has not changed much, but I do find my everyday look is inspired by the 'less is more' motto. I love my La Vie high-waisted straight leg denim with a Victorian crisp cotton blouse and a navy double breasted blazer for my everyday look. Every day is so different here, I am often out walking around to museums or vintage markets etc., so I want to be comfortable but also feel put together."

"I feel Parisians don't overthink or over-accessorize their look. Less is more for sure in Paris. [These are my] top three style tips: Perfectly fit denim — I think this is imperative to have a great-fit denim you not only feel comfortable in, but also feel great in. A great double-breasted blazer or top coat is a must in Paris. It adds a layer of cool to any look. A Celine leather handbag — simple, classic, and chic all at once, plus functional."

"I have sworn off anything too fussy. I have always been drawn to beautifully crafted pieces, but living in Paris has really crystallized this for me. I find myself buying really nice pieces, not trendy pieces."

"I feel so inspired here, there are so many amazing museums, cathedrals, vintage markets, galleries etc. My Fall collection color palette is definitely inspired by St. Germain's beautiful cathedral ceiling. So many rich colors and interesting details; it's really magical."
