If you compiled a list of stars who've got a thing for the naked dress [1], Rihanna [2]'s name would definitely be on it. We mean, you can't exactly ignore that see-though Adam Selman gown [3] she rocked at the 2014 CFDA Awards.
But in a recent interview accompanying her November Vanity Fair cover [4], the star let us in on a secret: she's over it. Post 2015 Met Gala, she's been giving all those out-there and revealing outfits a break in favor of covered-up looks.
"I wanted to wear something that looked like it was floating on me," she said, referring to the bright yellow Guo Pei number [5] she rocked back in May. "But after that, I thought, ok we can't do this again for a while. No nipples, no sexy sh*t, or it's going to be like a gimmick. That night [at the C.F.D.A. awards] was like a last hurrah; I decided to take a little break from that and wear clothes."
Upon further inspection, it seems Rihanna's stuck to her word. Within the past few months, she's worn more layers and modest styles than ever — at least for her. Keep reading for some evidence as we wonder if her new Dior gig [6] has anything to do with it.
