Selena Gomez Designed Her Own Red Bikini to Support Her Best Friend's New Swimwear Line
Selena Gomez's latest bikini photos have a sweet story behind them. One of Selena's best friends, Theresa Mingus, who was the singer's executive assistant for several years, launched her own swimwear line, Krahs Swim, and Selena designed a few pieces for the first collection. The friends sat down together to discuss Krahs — "shark" spelled backward — and what they're hoping to achieve with the launch. "Every woman wants to feel sexy. Every woman wants to feel confident and beautiful," Theresa said. "I definitely want to have a variety of different pieces so everyone can wear them," she said of the line, which has prices ranging from $40-$70 per item.
As for Selena's contributions, she designed a plunging top, high-waisted bottoms with a belt, and a zip-up one-piece, all in a fiery red color. "I did have a really good time designing. It was fun," she said. "I had a kidney transplant, and I like bathing suits that cover where that's been and make me feel comfortable." It's no surprise that Selena looks stunning while wearing her own designs, which officially dropped along with the rest of Krahs on May 2. As a nod to the name and Theresa's life-long obsession with sharks, some of the pieces have shark-bite cutouts, and all of them have subtle shark details.
