I know FitSugar doesn't think so!

This is just not fashion to me.

No smoking! We all know that it kills, can't it just go from the spotlight.

If you want to smoke, than smoke. If you don't, don't.

There is nothing glamourous about smoking.

Wow. The negative and unobjective thinking here is astounding. 1. It depends entirely on a photoshoot's theme. It would be silly, and wrong, in a teen birthday themed shoot. It would be understood and missed if not included in an 80s punk throwback shoot. 2. A verb is not a promotion. Showing someone drinking a martini isn't promoting Absolut. Showing someone drinking a martini is not promoting drinking and driving. Showing someone drinking is not promoting alcoholism and the various ways people can die as a result from drinking.... but we have no problem of saturating pictorials with alcohol imagery. Cheers.

PS, I don't mean any disrespect to anyone who has lost someone to lung cancer. i really don't. but you know, my first magazine was a harper's bazaar. and i was about 8. yes, i had $5 bucks and i bought it for myself; i remember it like yesterday, it had a eastern european model on the cover with a acid yellow silk blouse and green trousers! anyways, there were pics in there that had models smoking . . being all "le cool", but it never made me want to smoke. hmmm . . .maybe because my parents (who should be a guide for these young girls) always told me to have my own mind. to be honest, i don't think either one of my parents told me that smoking was horrible, although my mother wouldn't let me stay in the room if we went to someone's house that smoked ciggies. what i'm saying is, stop raising spongy kids who are expected to be guided in life by someone they will never meet. YOU be the guide.

I don't have a problem with it. i have never smoked, and all the adverts i have seen geared towards smoking has never made me feel compelled to smoke. and do you know have many ppl actually smoke. I don't live in granola county where everyone is healthy. I don't judge what ppl do. it's not that deep, and it's not MY lungs. i don't smoke because i never felt the need to, not because of lung cancer. if that's the case, i would stop drinking Merlot (sclerosis of the liver), or never eat another shread of beef ( supposedly cancer too) . . . Some people have too-tight thongs on . . get over it, and go hug a tree.

In editorials, it can be dressed up to look good. Anything can. I still don't think people should run ads with it because obviously that's not what the average smoker looks like and it's false advertising.

Its gross. :(

I don't smoke, but honestly if you think it's wrong to promote smoking in advertisement (I agree with that to some extent) then any type of alcohol should also be banned from ads. For some reason I think it's generally found more 'acceptable' to see glasses of wine or champagne in ads.

I think smoking is a horrible habit, and I think when they put them in these fashion editorials it makes young people think that it is fashionable to smoke and its not...

My great-grandfather died from smoking and my mom has bad asthma so I'm just staying away from them. And if models smoke in magazines, girls will see it and will want to smoke too! =(

I also enjoy being in the few bars there still are in Philly that allow smoking.

I don't smoke anymore, I use to for a while. My boyfriend smokes and I like it about him. I like smokers.

The ciggie makes the model look trashy. Glamour only please!

I agree - gross. Cigs are cancer sticks. Seriously, nowadays, I don't know why anybody in their right mind would smoke.

Health factors aside, I'm shocked anyone would smoke around thousand dollar gowns. Like, when I see photos of models and designers smoking backstage at fashion shows, I always wonder if they're stinking up the dresses or even putting cigarette burns in them.

ehhhh...i don't like promoting cigarettes but frankly, i think that in black and white photos, they lend an air of 40's Hollywood glamour. it's not right, but hey, that's just my opinion...

Ew I don't like it. I mean, they can do what they want because it's not affecting me...but still I think it's gross. I haven't had ONE SMOKE in about a week now and I totally am starting to get turned offf.

i don't like smoking and don't care to see it - but we all know that models smoke (bad generalization i know) - so it's really not a shocker that someone puts it in an editorial shoot
