I hate being the only one who dresses up. But it happens.

I'd much rather be overdressed than under.

I hate feeling underdressed, so, OVER. but, unfortunately @ my age, & the people I know, I am sadly the only one who really likes to dress up.

It's the underdressed attitude that makes everybody go out in their jumpsuits on a regular basis... Because if they already are underdressed at work, then when they're not working=tracksuit! I am all against tracksuits when they're not used for staying at home or jumping, running..., and most of the time they're not! The "tracksuit mania" was started by celebs candids because paparazzi only 'catch' them going to the gym! Go overdressed, look your best!

i'm in between. since i tend to wear pants and not dresses, i always look more tomboyish than all the other girls who LIVE in dresses/minis BUT i also tend to look more trendy/grown up (button down shirts, blazers, etc.). i'm overdressed and underdressed all at the same time if that makes any sense

I go by something a friend once told me - "You can never be overdressed for an occassion. You'll just look better than everybody else!" If I'm overdressed, at least I know that I look good. And if I look good, I feel even better!

Overdressed... like julieulie, most of the time, I'm the best dressed in my department. But I like the compliments. :) Being dressed up makes me feel ready to take on the world.

It depends on the situation... But for my age (20) I think it's usually better to be underdressed. I always make an internal observation when I'm at a nice restaurant and see people who obviously didn't come from another event but overdressed for the restaurant. It's better to seem as though you couldn't care less. At a nice party, where most people are wearing cocktail dresses, would you rather have on a day dress or a ball gown? A day dress, definitely.

I've been overdressed more than underdressed. I just have to say - I am in love with the photoshoot this picture is from! Good choice :D

I work in a super casual environment (read: jeans, sneakers, and sweatshirts are the norm), and while it's fantastic on days like today when it was freezing cold outside and I'm sick to just throw on something comfortable, 95% of the time I am the best dressed in the entire department. How I dress definitely effects my moods -- if I dress down, I always feel sloppy and tired, whereas if I force myself to dress better, I tend to feel better. Exception, of course, when I am sick -- then I feel miserable either way, and I'd rather just be comfortable!

It depends on where you live, and your workplace. I'm in Southern California, in a casual workplace, so overdressed is over the top. I think most of the women would view it as showing off and self-indulgent--not a good way to build rapport in the office!

For me, I'd rather be underdressed. I don't want to look like I was so eager to dress up and tried so hard to look fabulous. When thhis happens, I let my personality shine.
