Versace Resort 2014: Seafaring, Sweet, and Sexy
After all the punky aggression and spiked sex appeal of her Fall 2013 collection, Donatella Versace trotted out a Resort 2014 collection that could almost be called demure by comparison.
Well, not the shapes — all the midriff-baring tops, miniskirts, and sexy cutouts Versace has been giving us these past few seasons are still there, and so is the brand's time-honored commitment to making women feel sexy. But this collection, with its pastel-pink suits, colorful florals, and a sky-blue-and-white gingham skirt that almost reaches the floor, manages to combine sex appeal and sweetness.
There's also a decidedly nautical influence here that comes through in pieces like a blue-and-white-striped sweater and a number of jackets that have double rows of Versace's iconic Medusa-head buttons.
