Eccentric, wild, intense — these are just some of the words associated with Rei Kawakubo's fashion label Comme des Garcons. The Japanese designer is known for her avant-garde creations, which will be the focus of this year's Met Gala theme (it's in a few days). If you're not familiar with Comme des Garcons, the name is French for "like boys," and is based in Tokyo as well as the Place Vendome in Paris.

Once you see a Comme des Garcons creation on the runway, you'll never forget it. Characterized by voluminous proportions and shapes, the looks make you second guess everything you knew about fashion. The designs are always over the top, thought provoking, and an extension of Rei's artistry not found anywhere else. While these pieces aren't actually wearable IRL, you'll find her everyday items just as cool. Including the easily recognizable heart eye logo, designed by Polish artist Filip Pagowski, from her Play line. Check out Rei's most memorable Comme des Garcons looks while you wait for some jaw-dropping designs come Monday.
