I would say Berlin, New York and Barcelona. Paris is less diverse, fashionwise.

Inertia, rock rock on. It's easy to give the advantage to places like London, NYC or Paris, because they're epicenters of the fashion world--my mother got a YSL ocelot bag at the Christmas Sale at Harrods a full nine months before it was a new arrival in my home city of Vancouver (which is getting its own style, wait and see). But four weeks in Japan showed me just how stylish they are--the clothes there are unique, and even though the professional wear is very uniformesque, they go all-out with their looks. I bought so many shirts at La Foret it's insane. ;) Tokyo for the win!

Paris does for sure... but so does DENMARK! Those people are so fab and fearless in their dressing. People from Toronto are good dressers too.... =)

I have not been to Tokyo or Rio but based on what i have seen i would say london or paris - with the edge to paris. love their shops! milan was alright but it is so very label conscious. but they wear the close very well. and the shoes are nice too :)

Buenos Aires, Argentina. Everyone looks polished and effortlessly put together. No one stresses over designer bags and everyone has their own individual style.

i think new york, because it's a mix of all these places. it's so international, diverse, you can find everything there.

I've been to all those places, except Rio, and the young people in Milan & Florence are fanatical about fashion. They all look like they just stepped out of a magazine. Tokyo's kids are also very stylish, but the fads they parade around in the harajuku area are not exactly things you'd see in an American or European glossy. New Yorkers have their own cool way of dressing that is stylish without being in your face. They're kind of low-key and cool. Londoners are pretty similar to New Yorkers, though the guys are a little more stylish than the women in many respects (my opinion), esp with their hair. I think it's a Becks thing. Wealthy Parisians are the only ones who strike me as being super stylish. Everyone else is pretty standard-edition European streetwear. Californians are...well, we just follow the stupid mall A&F trends. I've lived in both LA and the SF Bay area for the past 13 years. Individuality exists in pockets (eg. Berkeley, SOMA, WeHo, etc). Personal opinion, of course...

I'm from New York, so I have to go with NYC. I haven't been to those other places, but I assume Paris and Tokyo are also stylist.

I've never been to Milan or Rio, but of all the other places it's Tokyo that takes the prize, with London running a close second. I live in Tokyo so I might be a little biased, but people here -- both women AND men -- don't hold back when it comes to fashion. Americans have a tendency to look unfinished because people are so afraid of looking "overdone" or like they're "trying too hard." I just went to Paris and while people were generally well put together, it seemed quite conservative. But London has some really amazing and innovative fashion. Tokyo's all about color, pattern, and texture. Layering has been a huge trend here for years and the Japanese are experts at putting together unlikely combinations and making it work. Even with the popularity of Western-style suits, the Japanese won't give up the traditional love of color. The loveliest thing is "coming of age day" when the girls who've just reached adulthood go out in beautiful kimonos. They're like gorgeous winter flowers, just stunning to see.
