Whats the point of buying a counterfeit bag when the whole point in purchasing a real one is its price.

Ugh this is a tough subject...My boyfriends mother just recently went to a purse party and bought me a "Prada" for Christmas Now, I know prada, and this bag is obviously fake (leather/denim slouch bag) but I got it as a present I MIGHT buy one if it was REALLY good and considering i can't afford the real thing But in all honesty..i'll stick to getting amazing bags elsewhere for a great deal I just recently purchased the most amazing Nine West bag and it was only 50 bucks!

I absolutly hate the fake bags, why buy one? why? so you can pretend its real, or lie to the people around you so they think you have that much money or something? eeh i would never

Buying counterfeits is just wrong. They are produced by child labor and also fund terrorism overseas. If you can't afford the real thing, don't buy fakes. Buy an alternative brand that you can afford that is produced legitimately.

I don't buy bags that have obvious logos on them. But to me the bags are too trend driven for me to plunk down thousands for them. So if i can get a knockoff for less than $200 then I'm going to do it. If I was considering a classic bag (like the chanel quilted one) THEN that's what I'll pay the money for.

i buy designer items for quality, so a counterfit stuff is not an option.

i bought 2 fake burberrys and a fake LV in nyc 4 years ago... i have to say, my judgement was clouded with the fake LV (it's a white monogrammed speedy... yuck) but i use my burberry clutch as a makeup bag and love it! well worth the $20. :) as for future purchases, i just don't think i am schooled enough in knowing what a fake looks like, and i would be mortified if someone ever called me out on it. although a big gucci bag would be baller...

Wow! It really fascinates me that some people her who posted said that you can't tell a good fake from the real thing. Oh but you can. If a person knows the brand well, a fake, a good one or a great one is still so easy to spot. I really feel embarrassed for the person carrying it because they may really think others think their bag is real. I've honestly felt so bad for people that I almost went up to them to let them know they got duped by where ever they bought it from. But after reading some of these comments I know now that people acutally buy the fakes on purpose. Amazing.

i confess i have some bags from other stores that look like the designer logo ones but obviously they don't have the lettering. my brother bought me some LV pouchettes but i think they are fakes since he bought them at second hand stores and pawn shops but he says he could sell them and get quite abit of money, so who knows? at this point in my life having a bag over 100 bucks is just asking for it to get stolen so i just dream of the day when i can get quality and authentics without worry of them being stolen and even better having money left over to pay bills!

Also... for the most part. People who HAVE the real bags and totally spot the fakes.

Please. Fake bags are so tacky. There are plenty of bags out there are aren't big name designers but equally beautiful. Fakes do not have the same quality and the real deal. I have a ton of designer bags (I work hard & deserve nice gifts!) and know that it's all in the material. That being said, fakes are usually NOT leather and have shoddy workmanship. I would NEVER pay more than $100 for a fake so buying a nice fake defeats the purpose of saving money. Sure in the long run, you have a nice bag but why don't you just learn to save more to buy a bag you TRULY love. If it's not a bag you MUST have and want and it's out of your price range - there are SO many bags out there that settling for a fake shouldn't be the only and first option.

a top fake bag is actually called "7 star" not a grade. :P I know someone in the biz. hehe.

Someone mentioned that fashion is not a luxury. Very true! There are many, very fashionable bags you can buy for a very reasonable price, but they aren't knockoffs - just a no name, or smaller name, such as Guess or Liz Claiborne. Luxury items are a part of fashion, yes, but not the only part. Fakes are NEVER in fashion though, so the people who buy them to be fashionable are completely defeating their purpose!

If ever I would buy counterfeit, it's because I like the style but it's not practical to buy the original. I wouldn't buy just to pretend I have the real thing.

that, and you dont go running around openly saying that its real when yalz know its NOT!!

I checked yes, but it was actually a gift so I guess that doesn't really count. I really could not care less about designer handbags. Who really cares?

it depends...if it looks cuter than the original why not?

I don't and I wont. but my friend has fake Hermes birkin which cost 50000yen(about $400??) and we compared it with my mom's real one. it looked fine. only feel of the leather was different. they both colored blue jean and silver metal and same leather. shes really happy with it. I still don't want to buy fake one but she loves that bag so I think it doesn't have any problem to buy fake one if they want and they know they are fake.

i read an article a long time ago from some fashion magazine (can't remember which one) where a factory from a third world country employed kids/minors to make designer knock off bags since they have small hands and they can train them to sew the bags carefully. whether the article was legit or not...makes me wonder how these fake bags are produced and i can't imagine kids being exploited that way. for that reason, i would never ever buy fake bags. and oh, i also stopped going to 'purse parties'.

Fakes make me so mad b/c people now automatically assume that my real bags are fake! I save for months to be able to afford one only to have people assume I bought it for a fraction of the price in a cheap alley. Grrrrrr!

hells yes I would. I think the "criminal" angle is bogus. To borrow SJP's line, fashion is not a luxury. Charging $1000 for a bag? What is that funding? Forever 21 is in the business of knockoffs, and they're doing okay.

I want either the real thing or something more reasonably priced, yet still as fashionable. I would never buy a fake. However, my mom bought this fabulous embossed beige patent leather Louis Vuitton wallet - counterfeit, of course - in the street markets of Beijing a few years ago. It's divine. You can hardly tell it's a fake; even smells like real leather. It's times like these that I am tempted to buy one of these counterfeits, but only if they're really, really fabulous.

I want the real thing badly, but I haven't got that kind of money so till then it's fakes all the way. I already have 2 Vuitton's. One is the cherry print, but it's obvious it's a fake I don't like it the other is a black one though. I only got the cherry because it came with the black for $5. I also have a pink "snake skin" Prada clutch, and this little gold metal one, I have no idea who it's supposed to look like it's by but it's cute. I tend to only buy ones that are really good fakes. I'm not going to buy something that looks like a cheaply made knock off.
