Are You Particular About Your Hangers?

"No... wire... hangers. What's wire hangers doing in this closet when I told you: no wire hangers EVER? I work and work 'till I'm half-dead, and I hear people saying, "She's getting old." And what do I get? A daughter... who cares as much about the beautiful dresses I give her... as she cares about me. What's wire hangers doing in this closet? Answer me. I buy you beautiful dresses, and you treat them like they were some dishrag..."

What is all this talk of the hangers all facing the same direction? Do people really turn the hangers another direction? That would drive me crazy. I recently trashed all my wire hangers, after upgrading to plastic. I do not have to have them the same color, so my closet is very colorful (pink, green, blue, black, white, yellow, orange, get the idea)

haha...i love reading about all of your neuroses about wire hangers! i personally can't stand them either and it makes me feel better about hating them. i normally put my boyfriend's clothes on the few wire hangers i have. ;) oh and for those the have to have the hangers facing the same direction...i'm there with you! :)

Wire hangers = shoulder nipples, and that is just not a good look for anyone. I used to work in a clothing store and when they would get rid of their nicely shaped/thicker crystal plastic hangers (usually because they started turning yellowish) I'd grab the rejects and recycle them in my closet. Who cares if they're yellow they keep my clothes in good shape.

I can't stand wire hangars. All of my hangars have to match and also need to all be facing in the same direction.

The hangers that I have in my closet are the wire or plastic ones that came with the clothes, plus a few plastic ones my mom bought. I've been thinking about getting nice hangers, but I don't find it necessary. I don't really have any super-nice clothes that I don't want to get ruined.

I only use wood hangers. Plastic and wire are gross.

My hangers HAVE to match. Black plastic only. Woods hangers are too thick and cumbersome. I agree with Mommy Dearest, noooo wire hangers ever. A closet with all sorts of hangers just looks sloppy.

no wire hangers and the plastic hangers must be facing the same direction and in color coordination

I use mostly plastic hangers with wood hangers for the heavier items. I am a freak about them matching, though. All the hangers in our closet need to be white, all my son's are blue and all my daughter's are pink. 8)

One day when I have the perfect sized closet, I intend on investing in nice monogrammed wooden hangers. Plastic I'm settling with now - they are all the same color though. And, wire is just a no no. I give those back to the dry cleaners for recycling.

I try to get rid of wire hangers as soon as I can replace them with either plastic or metal. I like the metal ones for pants so that they don't get that funny crinkle when on plastic ones too long.

I don't like wire hangers, but do not consider myself a hanger snob. I use mostly wooden hangers, but my wardrobe grows faster than I get to the store to buy new hangers and then the plastic ones get used.

I hate wire hangers. My hangers are all black plastic, which is unusual because I'm pretty "green", but I find wooden hangers too heavy.

Um, how does anyone use wire on shirts that have sleeves?? They stretch out the shirt by the shoulder (the area where the shoulder and the upper arm meet) and leave a little pointy mark there too... You can't get rid of those marks either -- at that point, it's Goodwill or trash!

I'm Happy when I find a free hanger.

Plastic hangers all the way. And they all have to be black or clear.

I will not use wire hangers. I have to use plastic or wood.

Oh I am the ultimate hanger snob. I cannot stand wire hangers, or the thick clear plastic ones, and all my hangers have to be the same general thickness or it really really bothers me. I'm even worse with my pickiness over pants hangers. My fiance gets all the hangers that are unacceptable for my closet...

I use any kind - don't really care and I don't notice a difference either.

Plastic or wood hangers wire for this girl.

I use the plastic ones that you can waterfall--my closet is too small for my huge wardrobe, so every one of my hangers has about 3 other hangers hanging from it. I love "Mommie Dearest!" My sister and I used to watch it whenever it was on TV. :P
