Amanda Gorman Wears an Embellished Blue Trench and Pearl Headband Fit For Royalty at the Super Bowl

Feb 7 2021 - 4:26pm

Amanda Gorman [1] recited her poem "Chorus of the Captains" [2] during the Super Bowl LV [3] pre-show on Sunday, right ahead of the big game. Amanda's pre-recorded performance honored three American heroes amid the COVID pandemic: a teacher, a Marine veteran, and a Tampa nurse. She certainly wore the most majestic outfit for this moment: an icy blue, textured leather trench with rhinestone embellishments on the lapels of the collar. The Moschino jacket had a metallic sheen, which played up the pearls on her headband — a hair accessory that is certainly becoming her signature after having worn an ornate crown for her cover of Time magazine [4] and a red Prada headband at the presidential inauguration [5]. She finished her Super Bowl look with silver Halfmoon hoop earrings [6] and a 14K gold initial ring [7] from Mateo New York [8].

Amanda has cemented her place in the fashion world, already having signed with IMG Models [9] for her industry ventures, and maintaining her position as a respectable muse of Miuccia Prada's. It should come as no surprise that her Super Bowl look, styled by Jason Bolden [10], was right on the money — regal, yet playful; impactful, yet light, as if to say, "why, of course poetry should be a part of this moment where we have gathered to honor those on the frontlines, and I'll wear a damn good outfit to show up for them!" Watch Gorman's poem above, then enjoy a few angles of her look in the slideshow ahead.
