Love 'em or hate 'em, pantaleggings have snuck their way into the fashion zeitgeist, and Dua Lipa's latest streetwear look might have just convinced us that the controversial legging-heel combo is worth a strut. While strolling through New York City on Sept. 27, the "Levitating [1]" singer embodied Kim Kardashian [2] at the 2021 Met Gala [3] in a $3,000 pair of black Balenciaga Naked Knife Pantaleggings [4] ($3,050). The sleek matte spandex pants extend into a pair of black Balenciaga Knife heels. Lipa layered the skintight leggings [5] (boots? bodysuit? pants?) under an off-white Luar jacket with a geometrically pieced bodice from the brand's spring 2023 ready-to-wear collection.
With the help of stylist Lorenzo Posocco [6], Lipa styled the space-age ensemble with a futuristic pair of Dior Bandage 1 sunglasses from the spring/summer 2003 campaign for Tab Vintage and a python-print Luar Small Ana Bag. Lipa added a splash of sparkle to the outfit with Eéra jewelry, including a key-shaped 18-karat white-gold pavé earring [7] ($2,580), an 18-karat Tokyo diamond pavé earring [8] ($5,984), a Dimitri chain necklace [9] ($1,380), and a Chiara diamond and white gold pavé earring [10] ($6,100).
At Firefly Festival in Delaware on Sept. 25, the "Cold Heart [11]" singer doubled up on the spandex in a custom GCDS lycra catsuit [12]. In the weeks leading up to the festival, Lipa also wore a cutout Mugler outfit to celebrate her Kardashian [13] have also shown their love for the pantaleggings trend.
