Dua Lipa Wore Thousands of Dollars of Diamonds to Perform at Elton John's Oscars Preparty

Diamonds were the standout star on both of Dua Lipa's performance gowns at the Oscars preparty benefit hosted by the Elton John AIDS Foundation. The Future Nostalgia singer started her string of solo performances in a black gown and later changed into a sparkling outfit to perform duets of "Bennie and the Jets" and "Love Again" with Elton John.

Dua Lipa is no stranger to a very sexy red carpet moment, particularly if it's sparkling. Her glimmering butterfly Grammys dresses are already some of the defining red carpet outfits of 2021. But while Lipa usually goes for '90s-inspired dresses or sexy, sheer looks, her Oscars preparty gowns were expectedly formfitting but impressively elegant.

Dua Lipa's first look was a black velvet high-neck and long-sleeved Balenciaga gown that featured a billowing peplum hem and jewelry by Bulgari. Her second gown was also Balenciaga — a high-neck, long-sleeved design featuring head-to-toe silver crystals with sheer, mesh paneling, shredded sleeves, and a fringed hemline that looked inspired by Morticia Addams's gothic gown in the 1960s series The Addams Family. Lipa's stylist Lorenzo Posocco completed the singer's look with white Balenciaga pointed-toe heels, Chopard earrings, and a Fabergé ring.
