Florence Pugh's Sequin Micro Minidress Is Played Up by 6-Inch Platforms

This past weekend, London hosted the BAFTAs [1], which are the British equivalent to the American Academy Awards, especially when it comes to red carpet fashion. While Florence Pugh stunned in a bright-red custom Nina Ricci tiered tulle confection [2] for the main event, it was her dazzling afterparty look [3] that brought the heat. Her sequined Valentino minidress was early-aughts inspired [4], teamed with Tiffany & Co. diamond jewelry and equally eye-catching metallic platforms, a new finish on the iconic Valentino Tan-Go shoe [5]. Pugh's look would make Cher Horowitz proud, crafted of a pink sequined bodice with crystal-adorned spaghetti straps. The micro silhouette made for a leggy moment, which was played up by the aforementioned heels, and she further accessorized with a diamond choker necklace, coordinated line bracelets on her left wrist, and earrings that crawled up her ear — all on full display due to her decades-approved updo.

Pugh is building quite the partnership with the French fashion house, having not only worn Valentino for the current cover of Vanity Fair [6], but also to the premiere of "The Wonder" [7] this past fall; the label's runway show [8] at Fashion Week in October; and a Fashion Awards afterparty [9] over the holiday season.

While this particular dress wasn't sheer, it was, in fact, a skin-revealing design that brings to light the 27-year-old star's applause-worthy statements about body shaming and how she handles criticism [10]. Recently, she shared with Vogue [11], "I've never been scared of what's underneath the fabric. If I'm happy in it, then I'm gonna wear it. Of course, I don't want to offend people, but I think my point is: How can my nipples offend you that much?"

Currently styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray [12], she's embraced other early-2000s trends, like her bright-red peplum [13] at the London Critics' Circle Film Awards at the beginning of the month, as well as her harlequin sequined corset and high-waisted skirt for the opening of London Fashion Week's Harris Reed show [14].

Ahead, see Pugh's not-yet-available Valentino dress and heels from all angles, then check out the other stars who pulled out all the stops with their afterparty wardrobes following the BAFTAs [15], including Simone Ashley in Alexandre Vauthier, Anya Taylor-Joy in Jean Paul Gaultier, and Lily Allen [16] in Giambattista Valli.
