Jennifer Lopez [2] took to Instagram on International Women's Day, Wednesday, March 8, to share a post supporting women. On J Lo Beauty [3]'s account, she posed a series of questions about support and empowerment to her followers, while standing tall in a sheer cutout one-shoulder swimsuit.
Created by a woman, the acclaimed designer Norma Kamali, Lopez's swimsuit not only showcased not only a large portion of her belly button and torso, but also revealed some serious underboob. With sheer panels that criss-crossed across her torso, it was interspersed with opaque white swirls and sheer panels for an elegant take on the cut-out trend.
Revealing a bit of underboob has been a growing trend lately, with celebrities like Sydney Sweeney [4] and Kylie Jenner [5] both embracing the look when it comes to swimwear. And at last week's SAG Awards, Aubrey Plaza made headlines [6] for her underboob-baring look for the red carpet: a cross-front embellished gown from Michael Kors.
Lopez has, in the past, used promotional photos for J Lo Beauty to celebrate her body — all in an effort to empower other women to embrace their own. Just last month, she took to Instagram for the beauty brand in a totally backless black thong bodysuit [7]. And as the face of Intimissimi, she has spent the better part of the past few months modeling a slew of lacy lingerie sets [8] for the brand. Even on the red carpet, she loves a naked-dress moment, rocking a totally sheer navy blue gown [9] to the Grammy Awards.
As the warm weather slow approaches and we look forward to holidays sitting poolside or close to the water's edge, it might be time to take a cue from J Lo and readily embrace the sheer swimwear trend.
