We have reason to believe that Joan Smalls is a time-traveler. For the 2019 MTV Europe Music Awards [1] in Seville, Spain, on Sunday, the model wore an outfit seemingly plucked out of the '90s, one that we could easily imagine being worn by Kate Moss [2], Naomi Campbell [3], and other greats from that decade.
But alas, Joan's satin separates are actually from Brandon Maxwell's Spring 2020 collection. The strappy bra top is actually the same one Dakota Johnson [4] wore to the recent Governors Awards [5], although she paired hers with a big ballgown skirt. Joan, meanwhile, contrasted her black top with a pink slip skirt featuring a thigh-high slit. She completed the look with pointed-toe stilettos by Jessica Rich.
