The internet is buzzing about rumored new couple [1] Kanye West [2] and Julia Fox [3] after the two were spotted on back-to-back dates just a few days into the new year. Most recently, on Tuesday evening, the rapper and actor went to see Slave Play on Broadway [4] and headed to dinner at Carbone afterwards, sparking more chatter about whether the duo were dating. I was admittedly curious as well, but not so much about their relationship status — I was more fascinated by Julia's date night outfit of choice, which consisted of a lot of Balenciaga and low-rise cutout pants [5].
The Uncut Gems actor was photographed walking with Ye wearing head-to-toe black, including a short-sleeved fitted top with a high neck [6], leather trench coat, and croc-embossed purse, all from Balenciaga, of course. It goes without saying that Kanye has heavily influenced Kim Kardashian [7]'s fashion over the years, and it appears that Julia is already adapting her style as well. While she first wore a striped blue velvet coat to the show, she swapped it for the jet-black number for dinner.
What was most captivating about Julia's outfit was her pants from Miaou [8], which she tucked into heeled boots. They're apparently called "thong pants" — low-rise trousers with cutouts and straps at the hips to look like an exposed thong. I've said it before, but I believe the cutout trend has gone too far with pants, though I can certainly admit that the actor makes it work.
