Lizzo's Custom Vegas Look Puts My Mom's '90s Cocktail Dresses to Shame

Sorry, Mom; at one point, I really did promise to rewear all of your wedding-guest dresses and slinky cocktail numbers you saved me from the '90s, but then Lizzo [1] one-upped your collection. Now, I'm just not sure it's up to par. The singer worked with stylist Brett Alan Nelson [2] to source her birthday look for Vegas [3], and the outcome was pretty frickin' incredible. Lizzo showed up to Sin City in a custom Dolce & Gabbana design covered in meticulously placed Swarovski crystals. The chocolate-brown ensemble was complete with a feathered stole to match her slipper mules and diamonds from House of Emmanuele [4] and Shine Like Me [5].

"@lizzobeeating celebrating that #BIRTHDAY in #CUSTOM ( INSPIRED by the original 95 dress )," Brett wrote on Instagram, referring to the fact that he tapped the house of D&G to re-create this silhouette from the archives specially for Lizzo. Clearly, the star felt fierce as she posed for photos in the lobby, giving photographer Bonnie Nichoalds [6] all her best angles. I hope Mom won't mind that I went shopping for some inspired (and affordable!) dresses just like Lizzo's, in case I can find such an occasion to show off my model prowess, too.
