Megan Fox [1] went full-blown Barbiecore [2] this past weekend, channeling an iconic Pamela Anderson look [3] in the process. On Sunday, Dec. 4, the actress was spotted at the Audacy Beach Festival in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, supporting her fiancé Machine Gun Kelly [4] in the crowd. For the event, she chose an all-pink look that featured a fuzzy feathered hat, a silent nod to the one Anderson rocked at the MTV Video Music Awards in 1999, designed by Ivy Supersonic [5] two decades ago.
Fox, 36, sported a pair of pink high-waisted cargo pants and a neon-toned knit bralette with underboob on display. Despite her addition of pink, patent pointed-toe heels by Jimmy Choo, the pièce de résistance was clearly her homage hat. Nearly 25 years ago, Anderson wore a corset and sequin-covered pants on the red carpet at the VMAs, topping her look off with the similar aforementioned design.
This is not the first time that Fox has opted for a furry topper — a distinctively late '90s and early aughts trend [6] that has been repeated by the likes of Hailey Bieber [7], Rihanna [8], and Bella Hadid [9] as of late. Fox was seen back in October rocking her own cranberry-red iteration [10] with silver jewelry, a black mesh corset, and nylon track pants.
Barbiecore is also familiar to Fox, who stepped out over the summer in a hot pink lamé outfit [11] that even matched her long, pink-toned hair [12].
While Fox has not outwardly stated that Anderson inspired her latest Florida look, it stands to reason, as she dressed as the "Baywatch" star [13] back in October for Halloween [14].
