Meghan Markle [1] and Prince Harry have embarked on their European work trip [2] this September, stepping out in Dusseldorf, Germany, to celebrate the launch of the 2023 Invictus Games with a one-year countdown event on Tuesday, Sept. 6. Markle chose a silhouette doubtlessly familiar to those who follow the duchess's style [3] with her Anine Bing sleeveless halter-neck tank, a lightweight, ribbed knit that she tucked into a pair of beige Brandon Maxwell pleated pants.
The cut of her top was reminiscent of her Stella McCartney wedding-reception gown [4], which she debuted as her second bridal look on the drive to Frogmore House with Prince Harry during their nuptials [5] in 2018. Of course, Markle is no stranger to arm-baring looks, sporting everything from an off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera dress [6] in 2018 to the more recent Khaite bodysuit [7] in 2022.
For the Dusseldorf visit, Markle also showcased another signature tried-and-true fashion move, opting for neutrals [8] from head to toe. She finished the ensemble with white leather Manolo Blahnik BB pumps and accessorized with her everyday jewelry, including Alexis Bittar diamond stud earrings set in gold, a Cartier Love bracelet and Tank watch (the latter of which some still speculate could belong to Princess Diana [9]), a Jennifer Meyer tennis bracelet, a Shiffon pinky ring, and her wedding-ring stack [10]. Markle tied back her hair into a chignon, tidy in the front and messy in the back, putting her halter on full display and finishing with a dewy makeup look and a light-pink lip.
The day before, Markle gave a keynote speech on gender equality at the One Young World Summit opening ceremony in Manchester, wearing all-red separates from sustainable label Another Tomorrow [11]. In the final days of August, she promoted her newly released Spotify and Archewell Audio podcast "Archetypes [12]" in a simple white tank [13], not unlike the sophisticated and powerful statement she made today in Anine Bing.
